About Partna

Partna is stablecoin payment infrastructure for Africa. Businesses use our API to collect, convert and settle money between African currencies and global markets: onramp and offramp between local currency and stablecoins, and local collections settled in USD or stablecoins.

We are backed by Y Combinator (W22) and live in Nigeria. We process more than 200,000 transactions a month at a 99% success rate, with more than $250M in cumulative volume.

The role

We are expanding beyond Nigeria. You will own new-market launches from the first assessment to the first active customers: choosing how we enter, putting the local partners and regulatory approvals in place, and winning the businesses that use us there. You will work closely with our CEO and our partnerships lead, and you will be expected to run a launch independently.

Responsibilities

  • Assess new markets: demand, regulation, payment infrastructure, competition and the customers we can win.
  • Build a launch plan for each market, with clear milestones, owners and dependencies.
  • Find, negotiate and set up local partnerships, including licensed payment partners, banking and liquidity providers.
  • Lead regulatory and licensing work for each market, working with our compliance team and external counsel.
  • Acquire the first customers in each new market and grow their volume.
  • Coordinate product, engineering, compliance and operations so each market goes live on time.
  • Represent Partna with partners, regulators, customers and industry groups.
  • Report progress, risks and decisions clearly to the leadership team.
  • Turn each launch into a repeatable playbook for the next market.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in business development, partnerships or market expansion at a payments, fintech or crypto company.
  • A track record of launching a product or business line in at least one African market.
  • Experience negotiating and closing partnerships with payment providers, banks or liquidity providers.
  • Experience acquiring B2B customers and growing them after signing.
  • Working knowledge of payments regulation and licensing in African markets, and experience working alongside compliance teams and counsel.
  • Ability to run complex projects across internal teams and external parties without close supervision.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including written plans and partner proposals.
  • Comfort with numbers: pricing, volumes, market sizing and launch budgets.
  • Willingness to travel to launch markets when needed.

Nice to have

  • An existing network among payment providers, banks, regulators or fintechs in African markets.
  • Experience with stablecoins or digital-asset businesses.
  • Experience selling to crypto wallets, SaaS companies or fintechs building cross-border products.
  • Experience in an early-stage startup.
  • French or Swahili.

What we offer

  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Paid annual leave and public holidays.
  • Modern equipment and home-office support.
  • Ownership of new markets from the first conversation to live customers.

Interview process

  1. CV review.
  2. Introductory conversation: role expectations and mutual fit.
  3. Launch discussion: walk us through a market launch or partnership you led, and how you would approach one of our next markets.
  4. Conversation with our CEO.
  5. Offer and references, where applicable.

We aim to complete the process within two weeks and will explain what to expect before each stage.
